Notice he said that game developers SHOULD make a SIMULATION for airborne infantry. Although still a video game, it's the closest technology can bring us to real combat. Like he said, ARMA 2 is a very accurate simulation imo.

The 75th Ranger Regiment is Airborne and Air Assault capable.

Airborne is obsolete as far as mass numbers of troops dropping into an AO. It's crazy how over rated Army Airborne is. It's crazy how over rated the Rangers are. Band of Brothers and Black Hawk Down really commercialized them and todays youth see them as ultra bad asses. Add up all the training and they're on par with Marine regular infantry except Marines haven't been thru jump school, but even that isn't hard to get in to

The whole point of Airborne Infantry is to get behind enemy lines or onto enemy positions,take and hold them before they are secured by advancing ground units.Otherwise they can be used for early sabotage and recon.

Airborne is easy. 5 jumps...no tests. If I can do it.. ANYONE can do it. You just need your unit to okay it and to overcome being afraid of heights.
Airborne is only 2 weeks.
As for rangers.. ok..you hit that on the nose.. and no i'm not a ranger.
